Why did they Kill these innocent Mockingbirds?
All this time in Maycomb there were mockingbirds that were hurt for nothing. Tom Robinson a well mannered colored folk who had a good family that he worked for to put some food on the table. As time went on the Ewells convicted Tom guilty of raping and beating Mayella. Tom was innocent because he couldn't have beaten Mayella with his left short arm and he was hugged and kissed by Mayella and Tom tried to escape. Mayella was supposed to be charged for having relationships with a colored folk, but instead Tom gets convicted guilty for raping and beating Mayella. Tom didn't do anything, but he did the good thing by telling the truth, but instead he gets thrown in jail. Tom knew he was innocent, and he tried to escape from jail, but he was shot to death. Tom was like a mocking bird that just did good deeds, but he got killed for doing nothing bad. Atticus is another mocking bird in Maycomb that was hurt for protecting a colored folk. Atticus was not only mocked, and he was also threatened by gangs to stop protecting Tom. Atticus told Jem and I not to be affected at what they called him. As Atticus was trying to prove the innocence of Tom, the rest of the town was with the guilty Ewells. The whole town was mocking, threatening and hurting Atticus's feelings while Atticus was doing the good thing by proving the innocent. Atticus was also a hurt mockingbird. Last but not least my buddy Arthur Radley was the most important mocking bird in Maycomb. All these years I had thought that Arthur was a savage, violent, ugly, looking beast, but the whole time Arthur was a loving and caring person. The whole town was saying that Arthur was mentally challanged, he ate raw meat, he looked into people's houses at night, and he killed his mother. I found out that all these were harsh rumors making fun of Arthur. Arthur in return gave Jem and I presents such as the soap, the chain and the watch, and what did we give in return. We gave Arthur nothing, but anger, sadness, and we made fun of him. Even though we mad fun of Arthur, he still loved us and he protected Jem and I from the violent Mr. Ewell. Arthur was also a very hurt mockingbird. I want to declare that before you judge someone you have to be in their shoes. Like I always say it is a sin to hurt or kill a Mocking Bird.
