Scout Finch's relationship with other characters
Hi, my name is Jean Louise Finch, but you can call me Scout. I have a brother called Jem, a father called Atticus, and our family also has an African American maid called Calpurnia. Our mother died of a heart attack when I was 2 and I don't remember her because I was too young. Jem, my older brother remembered my mother and sometimes in a middle of a game he would leave the game and play by himself reminiscing our mother. Calpurnia is really mean, and strict and I don't like her because she always says I am disrespectful to some people like when Walter Cunningham came over to eat with us. Walter started to pour syrup on his meat and vegetables, and this made me go crazy. Calpurina forced me to go to the kitchen and she told me to stop disgracing and making fun of the way the Cunningham eats because he hasn't eaten a normal meal for many years and their family was really poor. When I started to go to school for the first time of my life. Calpurnia started to act more kind to me and she would stop comparing me to Jem. I understand now to be more respectful and kind to other people and Calpurnia and I are getting together. Calpurnia does all the chores in our house and also teaches Jem and me how to read, write and behave. This is why I love her as a family member.
