In the court room

As Jem, Dill, and I went in the courtroom for Atticus's case to start we couldn't find a place to watch the court case. Reverend Sykes took us upstairs with the colored folks. Reverend Sykes is a very well respected man that I like. The case started and I was really nervous if Atticus was going to win the case or not. Jem was holding the railing bar so tight that you can tell he was extremely nervous. Atticus started the case by calling Mr. Tate on the witness stand. Then I saw Atticus question Mr. Tate very suspiciously. I was watching the case with open eyes not missing a single word that came out of Atticus or Mr. Tate's mouth. Mr. Tate was saying that Mr. Ewell called him to see if Mayella was okay, and Mr. Tate saw Mayella had a black right eye and her neck had hand marks. At this point I felt like Tom Robison was guilty for raping and harming Mayella Ewell. Atticus asked why they didn't call for a doctor, and Mr. Tate didn't give a clear answer which gave me a hope of success for Tom to be innocent. The next person to the witness stand was that really mean looking Bob or Mr. Ewell. Mr. Ewell was asked by Atticus to write his name and Mr. Ewell wrote his name with the left hand, which got me confused why Atticus was asking Bob to write his name. Then Mayella was on the witness stand. I think Mayella was the only person that showed the good sides of the Ewells just like her beautiful flowers at their house. I believe that Mayella is lying that Tom has beaten her because she said that her dad was good person, but she was going to say something else, but she was forced to forget the negative aspect of her father. I finally understood what Atticus was trying to do. My super smart dad is trying to convince that Mr. Ewell has beaten Mayella because he has a perfect left hand unlike Tom who's hand is really short because when he was little he had got his hand stuck in the cotton gin. Also, Bob Ewell is drunk who has a very annoying and unkind attitude. I believe that Tom is innocent and should be freed from guilt, but Jem, Dill, and I were so nervous that we were staring at the courtroom with our eyes bulging back and forth at the discussions. Reverend Sykes told Jem that I should go home because the discussions were starting to get a little too mature for me, but I stayed because I believe I am very mature. I hope Tom is free from guilt and Atticus can win using his smart techniques. Lets go Fiches! Tom is innocent!
