That's not fair, Tom Robinson is innocent!
Atticus took Tom Robinson to the witness stand. Tom always passed by Mayella's house after coming from work at Link Dea's grounds. Every time Tom Robinson passed Mayella's house Tom said she had something needed for him to do. When I heard this I knew there was something fishy going around Mayella, maybe she has a secret crush on Tom. Tom said on November 21st Mayella called him to fix the door hinges inside the house. Tom didn't want to go inside the house, and the children weren't around. Oh no at that point I knew that Mayella likes Tom. Tom said that the door hinges had no problem so Mayella said she needs help to bust another chiffarobe. As Tom was on the chair getting the chiffarobe, Mayella hugged and kissed Tom. When Tom said this everyone in the courtroom was so silent that no one can hear a pin drop. Aha! Mayella is really guilty now. Atticus is going to win and Tom is innocent! Jem was so happy that I could tell from his face. Tom after said that he ran away when Bob Ewell came and said to Mayella you Goddamn whore, I will kill you. I really didn't know what that meant, but I acted like I did so Jem wouldn't tell Reverend Sykes I don't understand. Also this showed that Bob Ewell has violent actions toward Mayella, which can mean that Mr. Ewell beat Mayella. When Mr. Gilmer, the defendant of Mayella, started to question Tom. Dill and I had to go outside of the court, because Dill was crying because of how Mr.Gilmer treated Tom while cross-examining him. Suddenly, Dolphus Raymond came and gave Dill his drink covered with a bag. I thought it was alcohol, but Dill said it was just coke. I found out that Mr. Dolphus acted this way so people won't know how he lived in real life. I noticed that Mr. Dolphus is a really nice guy and he is very caring. As we went back in the courtroom, Atticus was explaining that the quote "All men are created equal" is not real in people's knowledge, and physical appearance. I agree that some people are smarter or better looking than others. My dad said that everyone is equal in the Courts in the United State of America and he said please declare the innocence of Tom Robinson. I have never seen my dad talking with passion with his tie loosened, his shirt unbuttoned. I could tell my dad was giving all he's got to prove Tom innocent and the way it’s looking right now my Atticus is winning. Go Dad! Suddenly I saw Calpurnia go to Atticus and give him a letter from Aunt Alexandra saying that Jem, Dill, and I are missing. Atticus knew we were in the courtroom, and he told us that after we eat our supper than we could hear the results of the court's decision. Oh man I wanted to know what the jury was going to decide about Tom, but Atticus told me it was going to take a long time. As we went home to eat supper Calpurnia was really angry for once at Jem, and not at me. Finally! I was telling myself. Aunt Alexandra was in shock that we were in the courtroom also. I think that Aunt Alexandra sometimes over exaggerates small problems. When we went back to the courtroom I was in a happy mood because I thought Atticus was victorious. As we went in the courtroom everything was still the same, and boring. Finally the jury came back in the courtroom and decided that Tom was guilty for all charges. Wait a second did I just hear guilty. I did and I am confused how Tom was still guilty. Jem and I were really angry and sad. Jem was about to cry as the colored folks and I stood up for Atticus's passionate try to prove Tom innocent. I couldn't believe how the guilty Ewells walk away like nothing happened and Tom so innocent goes to jail, but I still believe in my father because he will get Tom still out of jail. I hope Tom will soon be free!
